August is beautiful. We've had time to enjoy things this month - less work and traveling than July, and more time to spend outdoors. There are so many things to enjoy this month. For instance, golden flowers are everywhere!
The butterflies act as if they want me to take their picture - especially the Eastern Tiger Swallowtails.
It is a month for walking in sandals.
The pokeweed is gorgeous this time of year.
So is the milkweed. (I think this is milkweed these butterflies are feasting on).
Getting great lighting is so tricky for portraits, but I was amazed by the weird but warm lighting that came from a storm rolling in during the middle of the afternoon. We've had almost daily thunderstorms.
I've been growing basil and mint in pots. Can't wait till I can use them in dishes.
This August, Kristian, of Never Fully Dressed Without a Style, asked five bloggers who their style icons were. Mine was Colleen Moore, and you can read all the Q&As here. (Image source).
An outtake from this post.
The corn is so tall (not our corn, but somebody's corn we walk past every almost day).
If I could pick a top to represent August, it would be this one. I wore this star-pattern cotton shirt a lot!
