I think this outfit ended up looking like some sort of interpretation of Snow White. Maybe any outfit with a yellow/blue/red combination reminds me of Snow White - or Anne-Marie from All Dogs Go to Heaven (who is essentially a miniature Snow White, am I right)? This was completely unintentional - and I didn't see it until I started looking at these pictures. I've always loved the 1937 film, but never been terribly enchanted with the character of Snow White herself. However, yellow, blue and red are such great primary colors - and red and blue are definitely rampant in my wardrobe. More than Snow White though, this skirt seems to match the flowers of August - black-eyed susans and goldenrods - which are blooming everywhere right now.
By the way - in case you didn't know, it's the Modcloth Last Hurrah sale. This means many things are 70% off - including some of these lovely People Tree dresses I've admired this past season.
