These red velvet flats are not new, but new to the blog. I bought them 75% off last November. I had a pair of red mary-janes I wore for ages, but they pretty much died last year - worn to death. It's taken me a little time to figure out how to wear these. They seem to go best with very simple clothes - (I think they want to be the highlight of the outfit). I've always liked having a pair of red shoes in my closet. They're a little bit magical and good for a "red shoe day." A "red shoe day" is when your day is gloomy and you instantly want to feel better. You can just put on a pair of red shoes.
This will be a very special Valentine's Day - marking our four-month wedding anniversary. I also thought it might be nice to send some old-fashioned Valentine postcards to my friends.
