These red velvet flats are not new, but new to the blog. I bought them 75% off last November. I had a pair of red mary-janes I wore for ages, but they pretty much died last year - worn to death. It's taken me a little time to figure out how to wear these. They seem to go best with very simple clothes - (I think they want to be the highlight of the outfit). I've always liked having a pair of red shoes in my closet. They're a little bit magical and good for a "red shoe day." A "red shoe day" is when your day is gloomy and you instantly want to feel better. You can just put on a pair of red shoes.
This will be a very special Valentine's Day - marking our four-month wedding anniversary. I also thought it might be nice to send some old-fashioned Valentine postcards to my friends. Here's one of the postcards on the left (I kept one to frame and hang on the wall). I was thinking about my favorite love song recently and I couldn't decide. But J'ai ta main by Charles Trenet is certainly very special and near the top of the list. Here it is along with the English version too. They're both very sweet:

This is the sweetest little outfit and post! That drop waist lacy number is such a dream, and I COMPLETELY agree with you about red shoe days! Happy valentines week and early anniversary to you two!

Happy Anniversary (a bit early)! :)
ReplyDeleteLovely diaphanous white dress...It's enchanting! And the shoes really are attention-grabbers! I can see why they wouldn't want to share the spotlight.
